    ~~Adz:Right~~ At approximately 7:30 p.m. on Friday 31st August 2007, officers of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force concluded a four (4) hour special operation within the Basseterre and Frigate Bay areas.

    The operation included traffic stops and ticketing as well random stop and search exercises on persons and vehicles.

    Approximately sixty (60) persons and nineteen (19) vehicles were stopped and searched with two (2) persons being arrested for drug and traffic related offences. A number of electronic tools and a generator suspected of being stolen were also taken into police custody pending further investigations.

    Any person who has made a report that similar electrical tools were stolen from their premises is asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 465-2241 Extension 220 / 230 / 236.

    Approximately fifteen (15) tickets were issued for various traffic offences such as “Driving off the bus route”, “Failing to wear the appropriate head wear while riding a motor cycle” and “Driving a vehicle with a defective number plate”. A number of persons were also required to remove the tint from their vehicles as it made the interior not reasonably visible from the exterior.

    The operation is part of the ongoing initiative taken by the High Command of the Force to maintain law and order within the Federation and to be proactive in doing so for the safety and security of citizens and visitors alike.


    The following persons were arrested and charged with offences on 31st August 20007;

    • Ervin Nias of Boyd’s Village was charged with the offence of “Possession of a Controlled Drug” to wit cannabis committed on 31st August 2007 at St. Johnson Village.

    • Dwight Davis of Molyneaux Village was charged with the offences of “Driving without Insurance”, “Driving without a valid license” and “Driving under the influence” committed on 31st August 2007.

    • Romeo Parris of Mattingley Heights was charged with the offence of “Obtaining Credit by Fraud” committed on 22nd July 2007.

    • Raquel Samuel of Bryan Alley, Cayon, a sixteen-year-old female and Jackeisha Richards of Irish Town Bay Road and Sharon Charles of Stone Fort were all charged with the offences of “Wounding” and “Battery” committed on 27th August 2007.
