    The Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College offers programmes in other Divisions or Departments. For example, Technical and Vocational Education, Hospitality Studies, Teacher Education and Nursing Education. The results for some of these programmes depend on external moderation and are therefore usually not available at this time. Results for these other programmes will be presented during the CFB College graduation exercises later this year. Following which a TVET State Scholar will be announced.

     

     

    BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, SEPTEMBER 4TH 2007 (CUOPM)Students at the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC) in St. Kitts and at the Sixth Form of the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College in Nevis, who wrote the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations averaged 83.9 percent and 87.7 percent respectively in 2007.This has been disclosed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Hon. Sam Condor.

     

    In a nationwide radio and television address, the Education Minister, said that 260 students at the CFB College wrote CAPE in 39 Subject - Unit Areas and the average pass rate was 83.9%, which is about 5% higher than the 2006 pass rate.Before listing the most outstanding subject performances, however, Minister Condor listed the performance of those subjects, that always attract a large number of students."Candidates must take either Caribbean Studies or Communication Studies.

     

    This year, for Caribbean Studies, there were 121 candidates, and for Communication Studies, 128 candidates, the pass rate was 100% and 99% respectively," informed Mr. Condor.He disclosed that Economics Unit 1 and Unit 2, 71 and 63 candidates returned pass rates of 97% and 89% respectively. Management of Business Unit 1 entered 135 candidates and returned a pass rate of 74%, while Sociology Unit1 and Unit 2, with 61 and 45 entries, returned pass rates of 91% and 100 % respectively.

    The following subjects also returned very satisfactory pass rates of 80% to 100%: Art & Design Unit 1, Biology Unit 2, Environmental Science Unit 1 and Unit 2; Chemistry Unit 2, French Unit 2, Pure Mathematics Unit 2, Geography Unit 2, History Unit 2, Literatures in English Unit 2, Management of Business Unit 2, Physics Unit 1 and Unit 2, Spanish Unit 1 and Unit 2 and Statistical Analysis Unit 1. Except for Pure Mathematics Unit 1 with (25% pass rate), all the other Subject Units registered pass rates of over 50%.

     

    ~~Adz:Right~~ The most outstanding students at the CFB College were: For Year 1, Anustup Datta who did five Unit 1 courses and obtained 4 distinctions. For Year 2, Kenrod Roberts wrote Six Units (4 Unit 2 courses and 2 Unit 1) and obtained4 distinctions.Education Minister Condor said that at the Sixth Form of the Charlestown Secondary School, 90 candidates wrote 28 Subject Unit Areas and obtained an average pass rate of 87.7%, compared to 90% pass rate in 2006.

     

    Outstanding performances, with pass rates of 80-100%, were returned in the following Subject Unit Areas: Accounting Unit 1, Biology Units 1 and 2, Food and Nutrition Unit 2, Chemistry Unit 2, Communication Studies, Computer Science Unit 2, Economics Units 1 and 2, French Units 1 and 2, Geography Unit 2, History Unit 2, Literatures in English 1 and 2, Management of Business 1 and 2, Physics 1 and 2, Sociology Unit 2 and Spanish Unit 2. Two subjects had pass rates of below 50%: Geography Unit 1 and Pure Mathematics Unit 1. The most outstanding students at the Charlestown Secondary School Sixth Form were: For Year 1, Agiel Browne did four Unit 1 courses and obtained four distinctions, and for Year 2, Kyndra Liburd wrote 6 subject Units and obtained four distinctions.

     

    "I congratulate all the successful students from both the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College and the Charlestown Secondary School Sixth Form. I especially commend and congratulate all the lecturers and teachers in these two institutions who work extremely hard throughout the school year with these students," said Minister Condor, who noted: "Sometimes we take the lecturers and teachers for granted; forgetting that without the extra effort that teachers put in with these students, it is quite likely that a substantial number of them would not be successful. 

    I also congratulate the parents of the successful students who encouraged and supported the students in these institutions."
