    (Basseterre; St. Kitts): The reigning National Carnival Queen, Tesia Burton is preparing to once again represent St. Kitts & Nevis at a regional pageant.
     
    One Saturday, Sep. 15 she will vie for the coveted title of Miss Caribbean World Pageant to be held in Tortola, British Virgin Islands (BVI).
     
    The pageant is in its third year.
       
    The reigning Ms. Caribbean World
     Ms. St. Kitts
     Ms. Dominica
     
    A total of nineteen countries will be competing for the crown including Anguilla, Barbados, BVI, Cuba, Curacao, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Guyana, Grenada, Haiti and Jamaica. Also Magarita Island, Montserrat, Puerto Rico, St. Maarten, Trinidad and Tobago, US Virgin Islands, Venezuela and St. Kitts and Nevis.
     
    The delegates will compete in Personal Interview, Introduction Speech, Costume, Swimwear, Talent and Evening Wear.
     
    This year the pageant is expecting American Idol finalist Nadia Turner as a special guest along with MC Rachel Price out of Trinidad & Tobago.

    Burton told SKNVibes.com that she feels honored to be apart of the pageant as she is the first St. Kitts and Nevis Queen to compete in the pageant since it’s inception in 2005.
     
    “I plan to remain focused on the pageant at hand and hopefully that would allow me to be very successful, even though the pageant is very young I have been told it has high standards, so I’m very excited to be apart of it,” she said.
     
    Burton and the other delegates are expected to arrive in Tortola on Sep. 13 and return to their countries on Sep. 16.
     
    The reigning National Queen has represented the Federation well in a number of pageants throughout the year and said that she is enjoying her reign thus far.

    “It was a bit slow in the beginning of the year for me but I think my participation in the shows I entered have really helped me to meet new people and gave me the opportunity to sell my country,’ she said. “And to let everyone know, St. Kitts is a force to be reckoned with.”
     
    Burton says that in about two years she plans to go overseas and pursue studies in Communications and Hospitality.
     
    The Miss Caribbean World Pageant will take place at the Sir Rupert Briercliffe Hall (Cultural Center) at 7 p.m.

    While in Tortola the delegates will participate in a number of activities prior to the pageant.
