BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, SEPTEMBER 10TH 2007 (CUOPM) - Carnival Cruise Line’s 2,124-passenger Destiny, which will be making 30 calls to St. Kitts between October 2007 and July 2008, will be replaced in November 2008 by the 2,758-passenger Carnival Victory. Carnival Cruise Lines said the Victory will be on year-round seven-day southern Caribbean departures from San Juan and replaces the Carnival Destiny on this popular itinerary and provides a newer, slightly larger ship, as well as a fresh new choice for consumers.

"The Carnival Victory will provide a great new option for us in the Southern Caribbean, including the opportunity to visit five magnificent ports of call, all in a one-week cruise," said Vicki Freed, Carnival's Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

The Carnival Victory’s new five-port, seven-day schedule from San Juan kicks off Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, and includes an overnight call in the elegant resort area of La Romana/Casa De Campo, along with extended visits to the tropical destinations of St. Kitts, Barbados, Dominica and St. Thomas.

"St. Kitts offers a landscape of rugged mountains and dense rainforest," said the Carnival news release. The 102,000-ton Carnival Victory offers a multitude of dining, entertainment and activity options, along with such high-tech features as an Internet Cafe, Wi-Fi access, and cell phone service.

The ship features four swimming pools - one with a 214-foot-long corkscrew waterslide - a state-of-the-art 14,500-square-foot spa and gymnasium, an on- board duty-free shopping mall and a jogging track.

Family-friendly amenities include "Camp Carnival" and "Club O2," with supervised activities and expansive facilities for children and teens, respectively and several other facilities including a 1,500-seat Caribbean Lounge that spans three decks, with elaborate production shows.
