~~Adz:Right~~ The Executive and members of the People’s Action Movement take this opportunity to express profound sorrow at the passing of Prime Minister of St. Lucia Sir John Compton.
Prime Minister Compton was a venerable statesman of not only St. Lucia but also of the entire Caribbean Community. His has been a legacy of sterling public service that will endure for years to come in the region.
Sir John, as he was affectionately known, was a regional leader who was ahead of his time in his commitment to regionalism and the brotherhood of the Caribbean man.
We join the region and the world in mourning the loss of one of the fathers of the regional independence movement and the end of an inspirational era in Caribbean politics.
