    ~~Adz:Right~~The following persons were charged with offences between 9th and 11th September 2007; 

    • On Monday 10th September 2007, Evron Williams of West Farm was charged with the offence of “Malicious Damage” committed on 10th September 2007.

    • On Monday 10th September 2007, Kevin Boon of Sandy Point was charged with the offence of “Possession of a Controlled Drug” to wit cannabis committed on 10th September 2007.

    • On Tuesday 11th September 2007, Joseph Charles and Evron Williams both of Back Way, Sandy Point were charged with the offence of “Assault with Intent to Rob” committed on 2nd September 2007.

    The following persons were convicted at the Basseterre Magistrate Court between 10th and 11th September 2007; 

    • On Monday 10th September 2007, Alejandro Hernandez, Jalpay Pineda, Manuel Pemberton and Mario Florentino all of Nevis were brought before the court on a charge of “Larceny” committed on 13th May 2007. Hernandez, Pemberton and Florentina were convicted of the charge and subsequently fined $3,000.00 each to be paid in one (1) month or in default to serve six (6) months imprisonment.

    • On Monday 10th September 2007, a sixteen-year-old male of the McKnight area was convicted on charges of “Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition” committed on 4th June 2007 and ”Possession of a Controlled Drug” to wit cannabis on 25th March 2007. He was placed on probation for three (3) years in the sum of $5,000.00 and is not to be found in the company of undesirables. He was also ordered by the court to perform one hundred and forty (140) hours of community service with the Football Association, to attend counseling at the Out Reach Center and to report to a probation officer twice weekly. Any breach of these conditions will result  in a custodial sentence. The court also ordered that a review will be made in three (3) months time with regard to the sentencing for the firearm charge.

    • On Monday 10th September 2007, a fifteen-year-old male of the Shadwell Housing area was convicted on a charged of “House Breaking with Intent” committed on 9th October 2006. He was placed on probation for a period of twelve (12) months in the sum of $2,000.00. He fined $1,000.00 for compensation to be paid by his father in three (3) months or in default to serve three (3) months imprisonment. The court also ordered that he attend school regularly and punctually. A 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. curfew was also imposed upon the juvenile and his case will be review within three (3) months.

    • On Monday 10th September 2007, Glen Rogers and Tandra Fyfield of Buckley’s Estate were both convicted for the offence of “Larceny” committed on 25th February 2007. The were subsequently fined $1,500.00 each to be paid in three (3) months or in default to serve six (6) months imprisonment with hard labour. They were also ordered to pay compensation in the sum of $600.00 to Best Buy in one (1) month or in default to serve one (1) month imprisonment.

    Also at the Basseterre Magistrate Court, Chaddin Buchanan of Farms Site, Sandy Point who was charged with the offence of ”Robbery” committed on 25th February 2007 was committed to stand trial at the January 2008 Criminal Assizes.
