~~Adz:Left~~ The People’s Action Movement wishes to offer condolence to the family of Darren Berridge. The year is nine months old and we have already tallied eleven murders.
It is scandalous that yet again another young man has been killed by guns in our streets and we have become so weary that there is hardly a whimper of protest.
Surely it is time now to end the outrageous and deafening silence on the part of the Government, civil groups and even churches that gives aid to the criminals.
The murderers have no fear of the law. They know that despite the onslaught of the last two years which have seen an unprecedented twenty – nine murders there has not been a single trial.
Those of us who are law abiding citizens are the ones paralyzed by fear and have become prisoners in our own homes.
The People’s Action Movement has hesitated commenting on this grave situation in our desire to prevent the usual ridiculous accusation of politicization but the toll has become too high to ignore. We demand that the Government take serious action against guns and crime.
