“St Kitts Marriott Resorts & The Royal Beach Casino Appoints New Director of Human Resources Mrs. Lisa Parker”
~~Adz:Left~~Basseterre, St. Kitts (September 2007) St. Kitts Marriott Resort & The Royal Beach Casino appointed Mrs. Lisa Parker, a 11 year Hospitality Industry veteran as their new Director of Human Resources.
Her entrance into the Industry began at the early age of 14, where she worked in Food & Beverage at the Hilton in her hometown of Pittsfield, Massachusetts as a Hostess, Room Service Server and Busperson. She then worked her way through college as a full-time Restaurant Server.
Upon graduation she moved to Boston and worked for the Boston Harbor Hotel, a 5 Diamond property as Room Service Captain and HR Assistant. She worked in HR for the Westin Resort, St. John, US Virgin Islands as Staffing Manager; Canyon Ranch Health Resort & Spa in the Berkshires, often voted the #1 Spa Resort in the World by Conde Nast Traveler, as HR Manager; and most recently for Waterford Hotel Group, a hotel management company, opening a new 409-room franchise Marriott in Hartford, Connecticut. She was a part of the pre-opening team to open this new property as well as the Hilton Hartford, a 393-room property, and the Connecticut State Convention Center, a new facility over 500,000 square feet. She was responsible for creating and developing 3 HR teams and hiring and training more than 900 Associates for the 3 entities over the past three years as Regional HR Director.
Mrs. Parker graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the School of Management at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with a Major in Human Resource Management and a Minor in Psychology. She graduated with a Master’s of Science in Human Resources Management from Lesley University, in Boston, Massachusetts, and earned the SPHR certification (Senior Professional in Human Resources) from the Society for HR Management
