~~Adz:Left~~(Basseterre; St. Kitts): One of the most bizarre cases that amounted from the September Assizes was the case involving Brian Prentice.
Prentice who is rumored to be a former Police Officer pled guilty to all three counts of False Pretences at the High Court, yesterday, Wednesday, Sep. 26.
The circumstances surrounding his charges are that Prentice on Dec. 28, 2005 accepted EC$800,00 from Zola Richardson Finch ensuring that she would receive employment at Global Financial Management.
Then on Jan. 6, 2006, at Saddlers he received another sum of money amounting in EC$2, 700.00, from Finch who had the impression she would receive employment from the said company.
Finally, on Jan. 25, 2006, at Basseterre, Prentice received a whopping EC$10,000 from Finch, as Prentice was still under the same pretences that he was associated with Global Financial Management and that Finch would receive employment from that company.
He pled guilty on all three counts and will receive his sentencing on Oct. 27.
As the circumstances involving his matter was read out in court, gasping and surprise looks were expressed on the faces of those present at Court who found it hard to believe that someone seeking employment would pay someone that amount of money for employment.
