Helen Gumbs… “Thank You Jesus!” Jurors Finds Clarissa Gumbs Not Guilty

(Basseterre; St. Kitts): The jurors returned a verdict of not guilty in the case of Clarissa Gumbs who was charged with Larceny in Dwelling house. The home belonged to Selwyn Pringle of Dieppe Bay, and prosecutor’s alleged that Gumbs stole US$3,000.00.
However, the prosecutor’s failed to convince the jurors that Gumbs was guilty as the jurors returned a verdict of eleven to one in favour of not guilty.
Helen Gumbs the mother of the accused upon hearing the news rejoiced outside the court house.
“Thank you Jesus!” she said. “God don’t sleep, I’m his mother and I was praying for him.”
