    ST. THERESA’S CONVENT SCHOOL 6 GRADER GOT A CLASS VISIT FROM HER RESEARCH PROJECT

    On Wednesday September 26, 2007 Convent School 6 grader Ms. Guevelle A. Pemberton got a class visit from the person she choose to write about for her Social Studies class project Mr. Thomas Alva Pemberton.
     
    According to the teacher Ms. Bridgewater, all the students were given a research project on people who have received awards for outstanding service to the St. Kitts Community. Each student had to make their presentation to the class on September 11, 2007.
     
    With the help of her mother Ms. Rosel Pemberton and Government House and other resources, she was able to locate Mr. Alva Pemberton in New York City, who neither student nor parent personally knew. He graciously and willing supplied all the pertinent information the student needed to enhance her project and make her presentation a tremendous success and one of the best.
     
    On September 11, 2007 the presentation day  Ms. Guevelle Pemberton wrote. “ Thomas Alva Pemberton was born in Taberancle to Mr & Mrs Victor  Pemberton. He attended the Tabernacle Primary School where he was always an excellent student. He loved studying the dictionary, and his drive to learn new words earn him the nickname “the lexicon”.
     
    ~~Adz:Right~~ Alva Pemberton as he is affectionately called is a very sagacious, meticulous and conscientious person. He has a big heart and loves helping people. In New York he has worked relentless to assist in the amelioration of the social and economic status of the people of his country. He is always actively involved in many organizations, one of which he started while he was in college. The fundamental objective was to assist under privileged student with financial aid and scholarships.
     
    Mr. Pemberton further his education at the Bronx community College where he obtained an Associate Degree in Business Administration. He continued his studies at Lehman College where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He also has an Associate and A Masters Cruise Counselors Diplomas.
     
    In 1995 he stared a Tour and Travel Business known as TDE Tours Connection Inc. (www.tdetours.com) of which he is the President and Chief Executive Officer. This business specializes in cruises, fun trips and more. It has enabled him the tremendous opportunity to promote the culture, serenity and tranquility of the islands of St. Kitts- Nevis as a major tourist destination. In June 2007 he traveled to Italy, Spain, Croatia and France. No matter where he travels, whether it is Tahiti or Venice St. Kitts is always on his mind.
     
    In 1999 the Honorable Dr. Denzil Douglas appointed Mr. Pemberton as his Commercial Attaché’. During the 2004 Independence Anniversary Celebrations, Mr. Alva Pemberton was awarded a Medal of Honour by the Governor for his sterling, outstanding and unflinching community service that he continues to emanate to the people of our Federation.
     
    He is highly esteemed and admired by many. He is also a very amicable person and a frequent visitor to the Federation. He will be here on September 23rd, 2007.

    On September 26, 2007 while on a short visit to the Federation, Mr. Alva Pemberton took time out to visit the 6 grade class of Guevelle A. Pemberton where he motivated all the students to stay focus and don’t allow anything to impede their dreams. He also reminded them that it is very imperative to always respect their teachers, parents and be kind to one another.   All the students especially Guevelle was very elated to have the person she  wrote about actually visited their school.
