A constable of the Police has been charged
    Basseterre; St. Kitts:
A Constable of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, Constable Alister Huggins (No.573), has been charged with “discreditable conduct”. The charge was laid against him on Thursday, 4th October.

The Police are still investigating the specifics from which the charges were laid but it stemmed from a report made by a member of the Bobo Shanty Rastafarian group, alleging that the disgraced officer had stolen a sum of money from him during a search conducted by the combined Security Forces.

The charge against the Constable Huggins comes as efforts are being made to reassert the credibility of the Police Force to the general public.

The feedback from the public on the heel of the disciplinary charge has been mixed.

“It shows that they are really trying to clean up the Police Force and the rule still exists that if you do the crime, you do the time,” one local stated.

~~Adz:Right~~ “A lot of criminals in the Force; that is why there are so many criminal activities. Time enough they start to weed them out,” another added.

The High Command of the Police Force has given the reassurance that the Force does not condone any activity by any officer that discredits the good name of the Police Force.

The Police continue to work assiduously to improve its rapport with citizens.
