Teachers in St. Kitts-Nevis celebrate World Teacher’s Day
~~Adz:Left~~(Basseterre; St. Kitts): The teachers of St. Kitts and Nevis are celebrating World Teachers Day, today Friday Oct. 5.
The teachers will be attending a seminar today at the Rivers of living Water Sanctuary which began at 8:30 a.m.
The teachers have been celebrating a week of activities and the celebration will come to an end on Sunday Oct. 7 with a possible church service.
All schools in the federation are out as the teachers attended the seminar.
World Teachers’ Day was inaugurated in 1994 to commemorate the signing of the UNESCO/ILO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers on 5 October 1966. More than 100 countries currently celebrate World Teachers’ Day on 5 October.
