More guns and “weed” confiscated

The Police and the Defence Force have confiscated two other guns and ammunition and are in the process of destroying a quantity of marijuana plants as they continue in their crackdown on illegal firearms and drugs.
Earlier today, Wednesday 10th October, the combined Security Forces executed a search on a property in John England Village, and a 9mm semi automatic pistol and 10 rounds of matching ammunition were discovered in a bedroom.
As a result of the find, the Police have charged 19 year old Harsha “Hobo” Elliott and 18 year old Chad “C-money” Elliott, both of John England Village, with “possession of a firearm” and “possession of ammunition."

The second gun was confiscated after a civic-minded citizen handed over a .22 pistol, along with six rounds of ammunition, to the Police, on Tuesday 9th October. He found the gun and ammunition in the Basseterre area.
The civic minded citizen has come in for high praise from the Police High Command and the Defence Force and the opportunity was taken to encourage other citizens to emulate his civic-mindedness.
Cannabis plants uprooted in canefield area by Fair View Inn, Boyds
In another search exercise on Tuesday, the Drug Unit of the Police Force discovered approximately 250 marijuana plants planted in a cane field in the Fair View Inn area. The plants were subsequently uprooted and are in the process of being destroyed by the Drug Unit.
It is estimated that the street value of the plants is EC$6500.
The Police and Security Forces continue to work assiduously to curb crime and violence and to stem the growth and trafficking of illegal drugs.
