Basseterre, St.Kitts: Yet another gun, a 9mm Ruger pistol, and fifteen rounds of ammunition, have been confiscated by the Police, as their crack down on illegal firearms and drugs continue.
According to a Police report, while officers of the Drug Squad Unit were making a routine patrol in the Tabernacle area, on Tuesday night, October 16th, they realized a male, wearing a black hooded top, acting suspiciously.
The officers approached him but the unidentified man fled. While the man was making his escape, the officers noticed that he discarded an object in some nearby bushes.
A search of the area where the package was discarded revealed the pistol and the ammunition.
The Police are still trying to determine the identity of the suspicious acting male.

The marijuana and marijuana seeds that were confiscated

In another incident, a combined effort by the Police and the Defence Force resulted in the discovery of a large quantity of marijuana and marijuana seeds, with an estimated street value of EC$ 25,000.
The Police report indicates that the contraband was found while the lawmen were conducting searches in the McKnight area.
The exact area where the “weed” and seeds were found is outside a fence of a residence in Shaw Avenue.
The Police and Defence Force continue to work assiduously to significantly reduce incidents of crime and violence in the Federation.
