PRIME MINISTER DOUGLAS AND PREMIER PARRY MEET WITH NATIONALS

WASHINTON, D.C., OCTOBER 22ND 2007 (CUOPM) - Nationals of St. Kitts and Nevis living in the Metro Washington DC area were hosted on Saturday evening to a reception in honour of the presence in that city of the Prime Minister of the Federation, Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas and the Premier of Nevis, Hon. Joseph Parry who attended the Annual Meetings of the World Bank/International Monetary Fund (WB/IMF).
The venue for the event was the Embassy of St. Kitts and Nevis. The gathering was addressed briefly by both gentlemen who then responded to many questions.
From the account of several of the attendees, it was a refreshing experience and to be afforded the opportunity to engage both the Prime Minister and the Premier in a question and answer exchange which provided nationals with an opportunity to be updated by the leaders on a wide range of subjects: developmental, security, fiscal, health and environmental, services sector and the enhanced and evolving relationship between the two islands of the Federation.
~~Adz:Right~~ The St. Kitts and Nevis delegation which travelled to the WB/IMF Meetings also included Mrs. Janet Harris Financial Secretary of St. Kitts and Nevis; Mr Laurie Lawrence, Financial Secretary in the Nevis Island Administration, and Ambassador and Financial Consultant, His Excellency Mr. Wendell Lawrence.
The reception was hosted by St. Kitts and Nevis Ambassador to the United States, His Excellency Dr. Izben C. Williams.
