Prime Minister Douglas calls on OAS Secretary General

WASHINGTON, DC. OCTOBER 22ND 2007 (CUOPM) – St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas, during his recent visit to the US capital to attend meetings of the International Monetary Fund/World Bank (IMF/World Bank), paid a courtesy call on Organisation of American States (OAS) Secretary General, His Excellency José Miguel Insulza.
Among other things, they touched on OAS-St. Kitts and Nevis co-operation, including OAS projects on civil registry.
Prime Minister Douglas also sought OAS assistance for more action on pivotal regional issues such as violence and the alarming levels of deaths by motor vehicle accidents. ~~Adz:Right~~
Secretary General Insulza expressed concern about public security issues in general.
The St. Kitts and Nevis leader was accompanied on the visit by the St. Kitts and Nevis Permanent Representative to the OAS, His Excellency Dr. Izben C. Williams.
