BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - SANTONNYA MILLS was on Sunday night (July 31) crowned the new 2011 Miss Culture Queen before a large crowd at the Nevis Cultural Complex where she amassed a whopping 876 points to take the win.

Mills also took Best Cultural Wear and was named Miss Photogenic. Her closest rival Irvincia Warner totaled 870 points, taking the First Runner-up position and Best Talent with a calypso rendition about grown men meddling with school girls.

Jascur Hopson was Second Runner-up with 866 points and was given the award for Best Evening Wear in a red extravagant fitted dress which hugged her body.

The other contestants were Pamela Diaz, Blondell Davis and Franale Holder, who was awarded Best Interview and was also chosen amongst the contestants as Miss Amity.

The pageant saw a large crowd but most individuals thought the show could have been more exciting. The night had climaxed after 1:00 p.m. and saw appearances by the newly crowned Miss Culture Swimsuit Sidamo Jones and the 2011 Mr. Kool Nadaski Percival.

The pageant was part of the 2011 Culturama Summer Festival celebrations which ran from July 21 to August 2 under the theme ‘Mas, Music Fun for 2k11!  Truly a Cultural Expression’.

Two days prior to the pageant the reigning King Astro was dethroned and placed Second Runner-up in the TDC Senior Calypso Show. Hollywood was crowned the new King while I-Soursop placed First Runner-up.
