BASSETERRE St. Kitts, August 3 2011 – Since May of this year, students of the Office Administration Management Course (OADM) at the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC) have been experiencing the working environment at Digicel’s Head Office based at Port Zante in St. Kitts.

What started out as a Summer School Internship Programme quickly evolved into Digicel’s Internship Programme, where other students of the CFBC can expect to be interning at Digicel throughout the year. While enrolled in Digicel’s Internship Programme, promising students of the OADM Course will experience Digicel’s dynamic and fast-paced corporate culture, get hands-on experience in a thriving business environment and also receive sound advice and coaching from Digicel’s dedicated employees.

So far, four young ladies, namely, Sherima Richards, Keija Mills, Kirsha Jeffers and Amanda Phillip have all benefited from their internship at the home of The Bigger, Better Network - Digicel. The four College students have not only provided support in Digicel’s Customer Care Unit by assisting walk-in customers with general inquiries and bill payments, but have also been involved in the fun and exciting activities with Digicel’s Marketing Team including video-taping of Digicel’s Supermarket Sweep, hiding tokens in the recent Treasure Hunt Promotion & becoming Digi-Girls at local Football matches & Road Shows. In addition, Digicel’s Country Manager, Sean Latty, has maintained his open-door policy, giving all interns the opportunity to speak with him one-on-one, for mentoring and guidance.

Digicel’s Customer Experience Manager, Kenneth Bobb has been working very closely with each intern, and is to date, very pleased with their performance and professionalism. He opined that, “As a good corporate citizen, Digicel is committed to providing opportunities for our youth to get exposure and practical job training with a business leader like Digicel.” He strongly believes that, “It provides an opportunity for us to test young local talent which potentially can fit into our expanding business community.”

As a firm believer and supporter of the development of youth in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, Digicel stands committed to ensuring that each intern receives the best experience while at The Bigger, Better Network through the Digicel Internship Programme and wishes them all the very best in their future endeavors and careers.
