    Basseterre, St. Kitts:
Residents of Conaree Village are voicing their disgust and outrage over a number of shooting incidents which happened within the last four days, October 19th- 22nd. Fortunately, there have been no deaths as a result of the shootings.

Visibly angry residents are calling for the Security Forces and the authorities that be to do all in their power to ensure that the perpetrators of such senseless shootings be apprehended and brought to justice.

According to a Police press release, the most recent shooting incident in the Conaree area occurred on the 22nd, at around 6:30 a.m., when two young men were shot at by unknown assailants.

Amazingly, none of the two who were fleeing sustained gunshot wounds but one received some blows with a gun butt.

The above mentioned incident came after two other shootings, on the 19th and 21st October, respectively.

~~Adz:Right~~ The shooting incident  on the 19th occured at approximately 11 p.m. where a twenty year old young man, Ivan Pennyfeather, was shot in the leg.

In the other shootings, a twenty nine year old man, Danny Isaac, was also shot in the leg.

Both victims had to be taken to the Joseph N France General Hospital to receive treatment for their wounds.

Interestingly, the shooting incidents in Conaree have only drawn unwanted publicity to the ‘ghetto’ names that have been given to the area- “Shootersville” and “Dodge City.”

The Police are continuing their investigations into all three shooting incidents as well a separate incident where spent shells were discovered on Stainforth Street, New Town. The discovery was made after a resident reported a bullet hole in the passenger door of his vehicle
