    Basseterre, St. Kitts:
A disaster of seemingly catastrophic proportions has been averted after a rear section of Kassab’s Hardware store, on Liverpool Row, collapsed into the area where construction of the new Social Security Building is taking place.

Fortunately, there was no human injury in the incident which took place at around midday, on Friday last, October 26th.

Store owner, Mr. Samire Kassab, said he was not in a position to assess the damage to his property but was quick to state that “everything will be alright.”

The store was closed temporarily in light of the collapse but it was business as usual by Saturday morning.

A worker on the Social Security Building site blamed heavy rains for the collapse. There were persistent showers over the island from Thursday to early Sunday morning.
