7th Annual Tourism Awards Banquet
Basseterre, St. Kitts, 30th October, 2007 – Twenty-seven were nominated and nine were announced as winners in nine categories. The seventh annual Tourism Awards Banquet rewarded excellence in the Tourism Industry on St. Kitts.
Guest Speaker Peter Odle, President of the Caribbean Hotel Association, delivered his views and lessons from his experience on the efficacy of the small hotel/resort operator. He highlighted the link between the need of the high end traveler for a customer care that is intimate, and the natural inclination of the small operator to offer this, amongst other things.

Meanwhile the Prime Minister in his address to the audience placed emphasis on the importance of the right attitudes and human resource development as essential precursors to developing the local Tourism Industry that is positioning itself for an upscale clientele.
The main purpose of the evening however was to award those businesses and individuals who have done exceptional work in safeguarding the island’s environmental, cultural and historical assets; contributed greatly to the on island visitor experience; lent great support to the efforts of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority and have assisted in the promotion of the destination.
