BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A man who stole two packets of Jerry Curl weaves from the recently-opened Lucky Cosmetics, situated at Amory’s Building at The Circus in Basseterre, was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison pending trial.

Information reaching this publication states that Trevor Roberts of Pitcairn Street, Newtown was charged with larceny and had appeared yesterday (Aug. 9) before a city magistrate, who remanded to prison.

Reports indicated that at approximately 5:25 p.m. on Friday (Aug. 5), a security foot patrol comprising two soldiers and a police officer stopped Roberts in the vicinity of the Circus, and a search of his person revealed two packets of Jerry Curl weaves valued at EC$210.

When questioned by the security personnel, it was learnt that he had obtained the items from the Lucky Cosmetics.

The security officers took Roberts to the store, where investigations revealed that he stole the items.

He was arrested and taken to the Basseterre Police Station along with the stolen items, and was subsequently charged on Tuesday (Aug. 8).

SKNVibes learnt that about 5:20 p.m. on the day in question, a female employee had observed Roberts acting in a suspicious manner while in the store.

The employee said she saw when Roberts picked up the items and thought he was going towards the cashier to pay for them, but, instead, he headed towards the exit and did not heed her calls of “mister, mister…you have to pay for the Jerry Curls”.

The employee noted that the store was crowded at the time and she was unable to run behind him.

Fortunately, she noted, some soldiers shortly after brought him into the store with the weaves and the manager reviewed the tape from the security camera in the presence of the officers, which captured his image while stealing the items and exiting the premises without paying for them.
