     ST,THOMAS USVI, August 10th, 2011 - The organizing committee of the Caribbean Exploratory Research Center’s Fourth Annual Health Disparities Institute is seeking abstracts for oral presentations and/or poster displays. The Institute will take place on October 20 and 21, 2011 on St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

     

    Authors are invited to submit abstracts describing original research, community-based programs, education, training or clinical programs, and evidence-based practice models relevant to any of the following topics:

     

    • Issues and Challenges in Reducing Health Disparities Related to Acute and Chronic Conditions in Ethnic/Racial Minority and Caribbean Populations

     

    • Impact of Culture on Prevention, Early Detection, Treatment, and Policy Implications Related to Health Disparity Issues in Ethnic/Racial Minority and Caribbean Populations

     

    • Best Practice Partnerships, Collaborations, and Models for Reducing Disparate Health Issues that can be Applied to US Virgin Islands and Caribbean Populations.

     

    Instructions:

     

    DEADLINE: All abstracts must be received by the organizers no later than midnight, Atlantic Standard Time, August 15, 2011. Please construct your abstract according to Abstract Submission Guidelines available on the CERC Institute’s website, which can be found at: www.cercinstitute.org

     

    ELIGIBILITY: All abstracts should represent clinical, research, education, training activities, or community-based programs.

     

    ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: All abstracts will receive notification of receipt within two business days. All notifications will be made via email from abstracts@cercinstitute.org.
