~~Adz:Left~~(Port-of-Spain) --- An 85 year old woman was found dead in her San Juan home on Tuesday bearing several stab wounds to her body in what is alleged to be a blood feud over the family home.

The body of blind pensioner Lenora Burnette was discovered by her 44 year old grandson Densley John bearing stab wounds about her body including wounds to her left neck and breast.

Reports indicate that Burnette’s grandson Anthony Lumsden visited the San Juan home on Tuesday at about 10:30 a.m. and after enquiring about the grandmother was told that she was still in her bedroom.

Upon suspicion of foul play family members pried the bedroom door open with a knife to find the woman laying motionless at the side of her bed.

An outraged Lumsden is quoted as saying, “I know is them. I feel they conspire to do this. They want the place, is the place they want. They were always threatening her; they were always saying ‘Get in your room old woman!’ How could they do that? The woman blind, what could she do?”

Unconfirmed reports however indicate that relatives felt entitled to the property and further believed that Burnette was a hindrance to their inheriting the house. While no charged have been laid, three relatives have been detained for questioning in regard to the matter.
