Empress Livity letting her voice be heard

By: Cherisse M. Sutton-Jeffers, SKNVibes

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – WITH singers such as Queen Ifrica and Etana as her idols, Empress Livity has chosen the road of conscience reggae to let her voice be heard not only to uplift herself, but others who enjoy her music.

Born Jennifer Francis, the Newtown resident began singing in February this year after being motivated at Mention’s Birthday Bash, where she did a ‘freestyle’ with another local artiste who was performing at the time.

Since her debut with ‘Simplicity’, which features a music video, she had released two other tracks titled ‘Gangster’s Wife’ and her newest single ‘Taking Me Over’.

Livity is currently a member of the Upstairs Family and have a number of singles on their recent volume one mix tape.

The singer said she is hoping not only to entertain locals with her music but to reach an international level.

She added that since her introduction to the local music scene, the feedback has been very good and many people have been encouraging her to” keep it up”.

“I am working on some more singles and I hope to have an album out by sometime next year,” she noted.

She has so far graced a few stages to perform, including Irishtown Primary School Princess Pageant, Island Xpressions, Tribute to Jamie and Sensia’s Birthday Bash.

SKNVibes has included a copy of her latest single - ‘Taking Me Over’ - for your listening pleasure
