BASSETERRE St.Kitts, August 12th, 2011 - The boys of the St. Paul’s community recently received a well needed hand from Dr.Ken .E .Ballantyne, legal advisor in the ministry of finance, through The Little Children Foundation(TLC).Dr Ballantyne once again demonstrated his love and commitment towards the development of our nation’s children when he willingly consented to sponsor the cricket club for boys in the community of St Paul’s.
To date, the boys have receivedmany cricket gears valuing over $1500 and continue to receive nourishing meals during their weekly training sessions .Additionally, they have acquired T-shirts which are used as part of their training outfits.
Undoubtedly, this generous contribution was instrumental in helping the boys of the St. Paul’s Primary School capturetheir fourth consecutive national primary school cricket championship and have now established a dynasty of their own.
When one considers the natural talent of the boys from this community and the generosity of persons like Dr.Ballantye, the sky is really the limit provided that a certain level of discipline and dedication is maintained. Consequently, these two values, amongothers, are strongly emphasized within the club which is consistent with our primary mission-developing wellrounded young men using cricket as a vehicle.
Toward this end, the boys will receive presentations on social, academic, spiritual and legal issues throughout the year.
The people of St.Paul’s are indeed grateful to Dr.Ballantyne for his kind assistance and invaluable contribution and anticipate a long, fruitful partnership as we seek to provide our boys with positive alternatives and equip them with meaningful life skills. Together we can make a difference.
