    ROADTOWN Tortola BVI, August 15th, 2011  – The Government of the Virgin Islands is inviting bids for the construction of the new Cappoons Bay Clinic to be located at Cappoons Bay, Tortola.

    The scope of work includes furnishing of plant, labour, equipment and materials and performing all operations in accordance with plan specifications.Interested persons must have certificates of good standing with the BVI Social Security Board, Registry of Corporate Affairs and the Department of Inland Revenue. Certificates should be dated no earlier than one month prior to the date of submission.

     

    Tenderers must have paid all taxes and possess a valid trade licence. Additionally, a tender security in the form of a letter of intent from a bank or insurance company for a sum equivalent of 10 percent of the contract sum is required.

     

    Interested tenderers should submit one original and two copies of the tender. The original should be placed in a sealed envelope and marked “original” and the additional copies placed in another sealed envelope and marked “copies”.

     

    Both envelopes should be placed in an outer envelope and marked “Tender for the Construction of the Cappoons Bay Clinic” and addressed to “The Chairman, Central Tenders Board, Ministry of Finance, Procurement Unit, RFG Place, Third Floor, Flemming Street, Road Town, Tortola, VG1110, Virgin Islands.”

     

    Tender documents are available upon request from the office with effect from August 29 to September 16 between 9:00 a.m and 4:00 p.m, Monday to Friday.

     

    There is a non-refundable application fee of $150.00 payable by cash or bank cashier’s cheque to the Accountant General.Tenderers are invited to a pre-tender meeting at the Procurement Unit’s office on Thursday, September 22 at 10:00 a.m.

     

    All tender documents must be returned to the office and deposited in the “tender box” by the bearer not later than 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 18. Tenders will not be received after the tender box is closed. Tenders would then be publicly opened at the office at 12:00 noon. Tenderers are invited to attend.

     

    Failure to provide supporting documentation would result in non-responsive on the date of the opening bids.
    The Government of the Virgin Islands does not bind itself to accept the lowest tender and will not defray any costs incurred by the tenderers.
