Tony Matterhorn not dead

By: Cherisse M. Sutton-Jeffers, SKNVibes

KINGSTON, Jamaica - BLACKBERRY broadcast is at it again! This time however, its rumour is directed at popular DJ/selector/artiste Tony Matterhorn, claiming that he is dead after being shot sometime last night (Aug. 15) in St. Andrew, Jamaica.

SKNVibes has however confirmed that the ‘Dutty Wine’ singer is neither dead nor has he been shot, but is currently in England.

According to popular radio personality Rico Vibes of Daflava Radio in Atlanta, he had contacted Matterhorn earlier this morning after hearing the rumour and the selector said he is alive and well.

Rico Vibes also told this media house that Matterhorn indicated to him that he posted a video on dancehallreggea.com to let his fans know that he is okay.

Matterhorn is one of Jamaica’s top selectors who was transformed into an artiste and is known for his popular hit song ‘Dutty Wine’, which caused a lot of controversy after its release, because of the dance movements affiliated with it.

He is also famous for other tracks that include ‘Blackberry Pin’, ‘Goodas’, ‘Walk and Wine’, ‘Dem Nuh Bad’ and his latest single ‘Dancehall Duppy’ in which he targeted a number of top artistes in the dancehall business.

The selector recently had a live interview with Rico Vibes on air, during which he addressed a number of comments made against him by the popular Twins of Twins.

However, the interview turned another page when Matterhorn not only ‘dissed’ the Twins of Twins but also threw insults at over half of the dancehall fraternity and referred to himself as being ‘badder’ than all of them, adding that he is not afraid of anyone.

He also lashed out at Vybz Kartel and said that most artistes in the business are afraid of him, but declared that the Portmore Empire boss is afraid of him.
