Recent Graduates of the Edna Manley College of Visual and Performing Arts Summer Dance School invites dancers to local workshop

    BASSETERRE St. Kitts, August 17th 2011 - Eager to share their experiences with other local dancers, recent partial  graduates of the Edna Manley College of Visual and Performing Arts Summer Dance School  Leburnah Liburd and Desi Brown will be hosting a one week dance workshop from 22nd – 26th August.  The workshop which will be held at the Victoria Road Community Centre will cater for young persons between the ages of 13-16 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm and persons 16 plus from 7:30pm to 9p.m.

     


    At the end of the workshop participants can expect to be more aware and knowledgeable of the existence and evolution of Caribbean and non Caribbean dance forms practiced here and will be more adept in using their bodies in creative dance forms such as  Modern, Revival, Dink-Mini/Gerreh, Bele, Kumina, and Dancehall/Soca.  Persons interested in sharing in the Edna Experience can contact Ms. Desi Brown at 765-9005 or

    The Ministry of Community Development, Culture and Gender Affairs, who provided partial scholarships for Ms. Brown and Ms. Liburd, congratulates them on the successful completion of the summer programme at the Edna Manley College and is extremely pleased that the two young dancers have decided to impart the knowledge and skills learnt and allow other dancers to share in the Edna Experience.
