    By Suelika N. Buchanan

    Romeo Cannonier
    (Basseterre; St. Kitts):
Romeo Cannonier of Parsons Village who was convicted of the murder of #454 Police Constable Delvin Nisbett last month, had his sentencing postponed today, Nov. 12.

According to the Director of Public Prosecution, Paulina Hendrickson, her office has not received the Psychiatric or Social Report on Cannonier as yet.

His Lordship Francis Belle said that when the reports are given the sentencing of Cannonier will not be heard as well as the Court will have to consider what the reports state, and any witnesses called in by the Defense.

“The reports should be ready by Dec. 20 where we will hear from the Psychiatrist, Social worker and the DPP and the defense counsel will be able to question these persons,” His lordship said.~~Adz:Right~~

However, he predicted that a sentencing from him may not occur until sometime in January.
Cannonier was found guilty by a 12 member jury on Oct. 23, for the July, 25, 2004 murder.

The DPP has asked for the Death Penalty as the punishment for Cannonier’s crime.
