BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE weekend did not go down as planned for many due to Mother Nature taking its course in the form of a storm named Irene, which passed through the Federation on Saturday leaving heavy showers of rain, gusty winds along with some lightning and thunder.

On Friday many people headed to the Frigate Bay Strip which was ‘swigging’ with some of the top DJ’s and with patrons partying at various bars to a variety of music selections.

Most of the events, with the exception of the Summer Sting at Ma Pau, that were scheduled for Saturday were postponed by the organisers.

Early Saturday night SKN Best of de Best, who were responsible for the event, sent out some broadcast messages via BlackBerry that the party was still on and rain could not stop the event.

SKNVibes was not at the event but was told by the organisers that a small crowd attended and they partied hard until way down in the morning.

The Woof Dog Entertainment event that was dubbed Crowd Check was postponed until September 3 and will be held at the same venue – De Pumpkin in Newton Ground - featuring the Grand Masters and Nu Vybes Band International along with Unstoppable Sounds, Xtortion Sounds and TNO Sounds.

Another event which was postponed was the Summer’s Heat that was to be held at the G-Spot in Sandy Point. However, no date was given for its actualization.

By the time Sunday came along, inclement weather due to the storm was still in the air and it was time to get out of weekend mode and into work mode.

If you would like your event listed in the weekly entertainment Weekend Round-up, feel free to email us at entertainment@sknvibes.com. Also, remember to look out this Friday for upcoming events.
