BASSETERRE, St. Kitts- THE newest and only official music label in the Federation, iRep SKN will be launched with a party at Ma Pau this Saturday (Aug.27).
According to CEO Kwame ‘Daggah’ Samuel, iRep SKN Music Group is an imprint of iRep SKN which is branching off. They recently opened a store at Port Zante.
He indicated that they currently have four artistes under their belt - himself, E-Carter, Debonay who is a Jamaican living in Nevis and Dejour the youngest of the pack.
Samuel said they already have talent, therefore their main focus is distribution as well as to establish an official record label in the Federation, from where they could not only make music but go on tours and possibly be the next Young Money coming out of the Caribbean.
The label mates are presently working on a group project as well as solo projects so that each member would have videos and music in rotation.
The CEO said they have a number of links which he hopes to use to expand to the US and get their music beyond St. Kitts.
He noted that DJ KevyKev out of Miami has also been doing a lot of work for them which would only add to their success.
Samuel said they are also looking to recruit Bands and DJs and not just artistes. The label will be releasing two new videos shortly; ‘Take A Ride’ by Dejour and ‘SKN State Of Mind’ by Daggah.
The Launch Party will feature the Small Axe Band as well as DJ Kevy Kev and Real Sounds along with performances by the four artistes.
Apart from the entertainment there will also be lots of give-a-ways such as phones, iRep SKN Clothing and drinks.
