Charlestown Secondary School Wins Top Junior Achievement Awards
~~Adz:Left~~The Charlestown Secondary School’s project ‘Dynamic Designs of Nevis’ is the winner of the top awards in the St Kitts and Nevis Junior Achievement 2007 Innovative Company Project.
Kris Liburd, CEO of Dynamic Designs of Nevis accepted awards for most outstanding company, best financial report and highest profits from the Honourable Sam Condor, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, during the recently held annual awards ceremony at the Sir Cecil Jacobs Auditorium.
Dynamic Designs also tied with Kittitian Divine, the St. Theresa’s Convent School project, for best display at the trade fair.
Other winners were Lyn Jeffers Visual Works of the Lyn Jeffers School for most innovative business concept and the Washington Archibald High School’s project ‘Reflections’, the overall second place winner, for the highest return on equity. St Theresa’s Convent placed third and received the prize for best business plan.
Recipients of the achiever of the year awards were Karla Liburd, Basseterre High School; Kizzy Ann Warner, Cayon High School; Kris Liburd, Charlestown Secondary School; Sherina Liburd, Gingerland Secondary School; Grace Patterson, Lyn Jeffers School; Alisha Joseph, St. Theresa’s Convent; and Michael Williams, Washington Archibald High School.
All one hundred and twenty three students from the seven participating schools, as well as the teachers who assisted them received certificates of participation.
The platinum sponsors of the 2006/2007 JA programme were St Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank, FirstCaribbean International Bank, Cable and Wireless and the ECCB.
