BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – IN an effort to assist parents and guardians with back to school expenses, LIME, the telecommunications giant, will be staging “Skool Aid”, a massive Back to School Fair that will be held on Saturday, September 3.

The all day Fair will be held at LIME’s Sports Club Grounds at Needsmust from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will feature services catering to the needs of students.

Parents and guardians will have the luxury of getting free vision checks for their children from the experts at Eye Care Express as well as free dental checkups from the New Era Dental professionals.

Barbers and hair braiders will also be available to give free haircuts and braiding services to the children.

Parents and guardians will also be able to shop around for their children’s school supplies at discounted prices.

General Manager of LIME, David Lake said, “Preparing for the new school year can be both expensive and stressful for parents and students, so LIME is trying to make things a little easier by providing a number of free services which could result in significant savings for parents and guardians at these economically challenging times.”

“For years, LIME has supported education at every level because as a major corporate citizen, we feel we have an obligation to work with government, civic partners and other private sector entities to ensure that our youth have every opportunity to get a good, well-rounded education so they can contribute to our development as a nation,” he explained.

LIME will be kicking off the Fair with a mini-motorcade that will be moving from the West Line Omni-bus Terminal to the Fair and an early bird special will be given to the ‘earliest bird’.

The telecoms provider will be offering major discounts on selected phones from as low as $35. Other specials include a free school bag with the purchase of any handset on special, and sign up for internet service and pay $75 per month for one year and receive a $50 top-up.

Specials also include a chance to win a $500 voucher after topping up $25 or more.

LIME will also be offering the customers’ favourite - Double Bubble! “The real Double Bubble,” they say. This special will only be available at the Fair.

An amusement park will be provided to keep the children entertained. They will enjoy bouncing castles, pull wagons, horse rides, and scooters.

DJ Wet Dut will be providing musical entertainment from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. after which persons will enjoy the live entertainment of the Grand Masters Band. The Fair will wind down with a concert featuring local artists such as Dejour, Pinocchio, Shakal, Pepper Ranks, Infamus, Nicha B, Silk and Footsy.

The expo will not be catering to those in St. Kitts alone. Parents and guardians in Nevis travelling with their children from Nevis will be provided with free boat passes and a shuttle bus will provide transportation to the Fair from the Ferry Terminal.

LIME will also be providing a shuttle bus from the West Line Omni-bus Terminal to the Fair for parents and guardians travelling from the West Side of the island.

The vision and dental services will be catering to children attending kindergarten up to 18 years of age. Parents and guardians are urged to have on hand a student ID.

LIME is extending an invitation to all parents and guardians to take maximum advantage of their Skool Aid, so dress up the children and hop on a bus or a boat and join LIME at the Back to School Fair.
