FND Enterprise Co-operative Credit Union Ltd (FNDECCU) Annual General Meeting Review

    BASSETERRE St.Kitts, August 25th,2011  - The FND Enterprise Co-operative Credit Union(FNDECCU), the only credit union in the Federation with a focus on entrepreneurship, new business development and microfinance opportunities for low-income families, held its 2nd Annual General Meeting on August 18th, 2011 where a new executive was elected to serve for the upcoming two-year term.

     

    The FNDECCU’s membership elected the following two new Board Members to serve a three-year term: Mr. Peter Jenkins, Managing Director of Jenkins Limited; and Mr. Trevor Cornelius, Proprietor of Men At Work Mechanic Shop. Mr. Faron Lawrence was also re-elected to serve another term.
     
    The membership also elected Ms. Gallio Gumbs, Human Resource Coordinator at Petro-Caribe Venezuelan Bases Oil Company, and Mr. Wendell Huggins, Accounting and Administrative Manager at Carib Supplies St. Kitts-Nevis Ltd, to the Credit Committee; and Mr Denis Johnson, Compliance Department Manager at the Social Security Board was elected to the Supervisory Committee. Mr. David Fox was re-elected to serve a second three-year term on the Supervisory Committee.
     
    The Board extends its appreciation to two outgoing directors: Messer Joseph Edmeade and Earl Thomas.
     
    The Board also expressed gratitude to two outgoing Committee members: Mrs. Cynthia Morton, Mr. Howard Richardson who served on the Credit Committee; and Ms. Judith Rawlins who served on the Supervisory Committee.
     
    At the first meeting of the Board of Directors held on August 22nd to elect members of the Executive Committee, Mr. Dwight Warde was elected President and Mr. Ernest Pistana, the outgoing President, who served for the previous two years, will remain on the Board and was elected to serve as Vice President.
     
    “Mr. Pistana has done a remarkable job in ensuring the smooth transition of the previous FND, a credit-only entity, into a full-fledged financial institution and worked hard to build and strengthen the FNDECCU over the past two years through his leadership and dedication,” said Mr. Warde. “I look forward to continuing that work in the role of President.
     
    As we look at the ongoing challenges within the financial sector, and seek ways to protect our members’ resources FNDECCU is dedicated to continue its advocacy for youth entrepreneurship and cooperative unity as a means to promote financial stability, growth and security,” he added.
     
    FNDECCU’s nine elected Directors include the following incumbent directors: Mrs. Diana Powell, Secretary, Mr. Gary Moving, Treasurer, Mr. Spencer Howell, and Mr. Auckland Hector.
