    Charlestown, Nevis:
The jury has failed to reach a decisive decision, yet again, in the case where a man is charged with incest and unlawful carnal knowledge of a 12 year old girl, in Nevis.

After deliberations on Tuesday, the eleven member jury turned in an 9 to 3 decision, in favour of guilty, but the acceptable division must be unanimous, 11 to 1 or 10 to 2.

As a result of the “hung” jury, the accused man’s bail will be extended, with the same conditions, until the case is retried next April.

The case was presided over by Her Ladyship Justice Inthea Leigertwood- Octave, at the High Court, in Charlestown, Nevis.

Despite Judge Leigertwood- Octave’s decision to give the jury a second chance to deliberate further, the jury failed to reach a recognized decision.

A trip to the area where the offences allegedly took place, on July 31st, 2007, was not magnetic enough to influence the jury’s decision to unanimity.

Prior to the disclosure of the jury’s decision, a large crowd had gathered outside the court room, in the heart of Charlestown, in anticipation of a guilty verdict by the jury.  ~~Adz:Right~~

The accused, who pleaded not guilty, is represented by Dr. Henry Browne.
Earlier in the day, the High Court moved to the scene where the offences were allegedly committed.
