Telecommunication Services of Trinidad and Tobago (TSTT)
(Port-of-Spain, Trinidad) --- Head of Security and Operational Risk at Telecommunication Services of Trinidad and Tobago  (TSTT), Mr. Denis Gordon has opined that acts of foul play on the service provider were strategically structured after the Macqueripe cell cite was attacked making it the fifth cell site to be targeted in the past two weeks.

Sites at Maraval, Carapo, Crews Inn and Toco were all affected in what Gordon referred to as an ‘organized attack on TSTT’s infrastructure’.

After the most recent attack, Gordon intimated that the hit on Macqueripe would have required a minimum of four men with access to vehicles owing to the fact that 11 lengths of feeder cables were removed, each about 100 feet long.

Moreover, cables were removed from as high as 90 feet, leaving TSTT officials to speculate that the thieves gained entry into the compound by cutting a whole through the fence.

“This was not a small operation.  It required organization and man power. This is indeed a case where a great deal of effort was put into removing cables which don’t contain much copper. This leads us to believe that sabotage is the more likely motive than theft,” Gordon was quoted as saying.
