Four Year Old Raped

~~Adz:Left~~ (Port-of-Spain, Trinidad) --- Currently investigations are ongoing into the rape of a four –year old girl who was born blind and mute and police fear that they will be unable to charge the suspect due to the child’s physiological inability to identify the suspect.
Yesterday a statement was taken from the child’s mother who is an unemployed 26-year old single mother. Allegedly, the mother left the child as well as her two-year old daughter in the care of a male friend to take her newborn infant for medical treatment at the local hospital.
While she arrived at home at 2:30 p.m. she noticed the swollen vagina at the end of the day while bathing the child. She immediately carried the child to the police station and officers transported the infant to the District Medical Officer who uncovered evidence which indicated that the child had been sexually molested over time.
Neighbors and family were questioned concerning the matter and local investigations are currently ongoing. However, no DNA was taken from the child to enable police to match the suspect of the crime.
