    ~~Adz:Left~~ (Basseterre, St. Kitts):
“Europass”, a French learning program was launched today 6th December, at the Basseterre High school.

The program was also launched last Thursday at the Sandy Point High and was sponsored by Cable and Wireless. According to Rita Schneider, Director of Alliance Francais, she hopes to launch the program in the other schools around the Federation, providing she gets the necessary sponsors.

The launch at the Basseterre High school was sponsored by River East, a medical company in New York City.

The program has audio visuals based on daily situations and is designed to help students, along with the teachers, to enhance their speaking and learning ability of the language, via the internet.

A number of students expressed their appreciation for the program and said that it is easy to understand and helps them to explore the language in many different areas.

Miss Saunders and Mrs. Yearwood, two French teachers at the Basseterre High School also stated that the program is definitely effective for the students, as some learn better by hearing and some by seeing.

They further added that it helps them with their understanding of the language and greatly assist them with their pronunciation and comprehensive skills.
