Basseterre, St. Kitts: A new airline, SKN Air Express Inc. is expected to commence regular straight flight services out of St. Kitts and Nevis to regional destinations by early next year, at very affordable rates!

Prior to that, however, Kittitians and Nevisians, and residents from other regional territories, are capitalizing on a number of charters organized by the new airline to cater for the Christmas season air travel demand.

Approximately a dozen charters have been confirmed for the Christmas period so far and it is expected that the number would increase.  All of the charters have been booked solid. To further underscore the insatiable thirst travelers have for this new avenue, all the charters are full without any public advertising- information about the charters came by word of mouth.

Christmas charters include three inaugural flights to St. Maarten, two from St. Kitts and one from Nevis, on the 15th of December, at least one charter for VIP Connected on the 15th, a historical direct charter to Jamaica on the 16th, several charters from St. Lucia to San Juan, Puerto Rico on the 17th, a direct flight to Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic, on the 21st and one to Guyana on that same day and direct flight to San Juan, Puerto Rico on the 22nd.

There are a number of factors that make this new air service almost impossible to pass up on. These include the fact that the airline uses regional jets (Donier 328/300 regional jets), cruising speed is 460 miles per hour and the reality that most flights will be direct!

Incredibly, it takes an estimated 8 minutes to St. Maarten, 30 minutes to Puerto Rico and just 1 hour and 30 minutes to Guyana!

In discussions with two representatives for the new airline, it was revealed that the company is expected to have 4 regional jets in operation by February of 2008.

~~Adz:Left~~They outlined that the demands keep coming in and it is a challenge to keep up with them, taking into consideration that they are not offering regular services as yet.

“The objective is to make St. Kitts a hub for smooth flowing air traffic,” they noted. Already, initial steps have been taken to try to lure other air careers to the island with the aim of using the SKN Air Express to fly them out to the final destinations.
Both officials of the new airline were confident that the company would be successful. They pointed out that their very affordable ticket costs and efficiency as critical factors in that assurance.

“As far as nationals are concerned, this new airline is a God- send,” they both added.

FlyMex Aircraft Company has been around for ten years now but it is doing business as SKN Air Express Inc. It presently employs an operational staff of 10.

The agent for the new airline on St. Kitts is Travel World while Claxton's Services is the agent in Nevis.
