    Basseterre, St. Kitts:
Gun related crimes are still a major cause of concern in the Federation and the Police and other Security Forces are working assiduously in attempt to curb these incidents of crime.

The need for continued and greater efforts to arrest these gun related incidents was made even more obvious over the past weekend as several shooting incidents took place.

Fortunately, there was no loss of life but there were several reported injuries.

One incident occurred at  the West Line Bus Terminal, during the Grand Masters’ jam session, on Friday night, December 7th. A young man, Devon Jeffers, of Durant Avenue, was shot in the back, while he allegedly went to the back of one of the booths to urinate. The Police have one suspect in custody assisting with the investigation.

This shooting complemented one in the Village area, where business man Lenny Ottley was shot twice in the back in during a robbery on Saturday night, December 9th and another incident where three persons were shot at a night club in Bath Village, Nevis, during the early morning hours of Sunday morning, December 9th.

The Police have one suspect assisting them in the Ottley robbery.

The Police continue to implore the general public to assisting them by providing whatever relevant information they may have that will help catch the criminals.

Residents of the twin island state are increased voicing their disgust with the recent spate of gun related crimes and many have pledged to work closely with the authorities to bring back a state of normalcy within the Federation.
