Kim Collins continues to hold the Federation’s flag high

    Kim Collins wins Silver in ISTAF World Challenge, Berlin

     

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - Kim Collins continued his winning streak on Sunday Sept 11, 2011 at the ISTAF IAAF World Challenge Meet in Berlin, Germany where he won silver, clocking in at 10.01 seconds just behind Yohan Blake of Jamaica who won gold in 9.82 seconds for the 100m race.

     

    The official results of the 100m event were as follows:

     

    1. Yohan Blake - Jamaica, 9.82. 2. Kim Collins - Saint Kitts, 10.01. 3. Richard Thompson - Trinidad, 10.08. 4. Michael Frater - Jamaica, 10.12. 5. Travis Padgett, United States, 10.19. 6. Ainsley Waugh -Jamaica, 10.23. 7. Ivory Williams - United States, 10.38. 8. Sven Knipphals - Germany, 10.48. 9. Ronald Pognon - France, 10.59.

     

    ISTAF (Internationales Stadionfest), Berlin is the world’s oldest track and field meet and was celebrating its 90th year and 70th edition of the Games.

     

    “This is an exceptional special year for ISTAF Berlin, a marvelous tract and field meeting whose reputation and prestige far transcends Athletics and which across all sports is one of the world’s premier and most enduring competitions,” said IAAF President Lamine Diack.

     

    Also excelling at the Games was Grenada’s Kirani James, who won gold in the 400 metres with a time of 45.33 seconds beating Nery Brenes of Costa Rica who had a time of 45.62 seconds.

     

    Kim Collins continues to hold the St. Kitts Nevis flag high. This time he did it again in Berlin, Germany. SKNVibes joins with the entire Federation in sending heartiest congratulations to Kim.
