Business Update – We’re getting there!

    BASSETERRE, ST. Kitts – LAST week the Development Bank of St. Kitts and Nevis signed an agreement with the Centre for the Development of Enterprise, a European Union funded institution, that is expected to enhance the Bank’s ability to offer technical assistance to its small and medium sized enterprises (SME) clients.

     

    The signing of the agreement came into effect last Thursday (Sept. 1), and is expected to remove one of the major hurdles that the island’s SMEs faced, such as a shortage of technical assistance, provision of accounting services or any other business related services or expertise.

     

    Presented below is this week’s update on the Businesses in St. Kitts. (09-09-2011)

     

    COURTS – On Tuesday (Sept. 6), Courts St. Kitts announced the arrival of their new line of Ashley furniture. Now available are Jersey Sectionals, Jupiter Three Piece Sets, Riley Three Piece Suites, and Montgomery Three Piece Suites couches and the types of coffee tables include Rivard, Pisa, Blanca, and Callum.

     

    LIME – LIME will be offering fourth and fifth form students some assistance in connecting to the internet after they receive their government issued laptops. Laptop users can have their parents or guardians go in to the LIME store on Cayon Street, sign up for internet service and receive one month free service.

     

    Parents and guardians will have the luxury of paying only EC$49 per month for the following three months, and only EC$75 per month for the balance of their child’s secondary school life.

     

    FASTCASH – FastCash, on Friday (Sept. 2) announced the winner of their Back to School Draw. Caribbean Lottery employee, Cecil Jacobs, won EC$500 which he said will be put towards the purchase of items for his children.

     

    KVK ENTERPRISES - KVK Learning Institute is currently offering classes to children of all ages. Classes include CXC Information Technology, Electronic Document Preparation Management, Office Procedures, English and Mathematics.

     

    The children's computer classes run daily, every hour from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and every hour on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Reading classes, homework and SBA help are also available.

     

    DIGICEL - Digicel, yesterday (Sep. 7), handed over a cheque of EC$10 000 to the organizers of the upcoming Home Grown Music Festival which is expected to take place on September 16 and 17.
