By: Lorna Callender, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - The Federation’s flag is now becoming a familiar sight at International Sporting Meets. Athletes from our tiny nation are holding their own among the hitherto unbeatable sporting nations of the world.

Congrats are in order for Nevisian Adrian Williams who won a Bronze medal for his javelin throw event at the Commonwealth Youth Games on the Isle of Man on Sunday 11th September 2011.

Adrian made a best throw of 63.02 meters to capture the bronze medal at the international event.  He placed behind Moolman Morre of South Africa (silver) and Can Luke of Australia who got the gold.  His teammate J'Anthon Crivon Sillidy placed 8th in the event .

Williams has been having a very good year excelling at the Carifta games by winning gold and breaking the Carifta record in the Javelin Throw. Now he has taken it further and is medalling internationally at the Commonwealth level.

Nevisians and Kittitians are truly proud of this young athlete and look forward to seeing him excel even further.  A warm welcome awaits him when he returns to his island home.
