BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A young man from Parson’s Village received medical attention after he was injured during a robbery incident perpetrated by two masked individuals over the past weekend.

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force’s (RSCNPF) Press and Public Relations Officer, Inspector Vaughan Henderson, issued a press release which names Jeneve Christopher as the victim. It further revealed that the incident transpired on Saturday (Sept. 10) in Sandy Point.

“On Saturday 10th September 2011 police at the Sandy Point Police Station received a report of a robbery which occurred at approximately 11:45 pm at the Alley, Sandy Point. Police from the area responded immediately to the call and their investigations so far revealed that Geneve Christopher of Parsons Village was robbed of his key and a his wallet containing a small sum of money by two mask assailants who struck him with a stick which they used to effect the robbery.”

The injured man was transported to the Pogson Hospital “by police” where he received treatment for a laceration he sustained “to the right side of his head” as a result of the blow inflicted by the assailant. He was reportedly discharged following treatment.

The police communiqué informs that Commissioner of Police (COP) Celvin ‘CG’ Walwyn, along with fingerprint and forensic expert, Lieutenant Ancil Alexander and members of the Crime Scene Department visited the scene of the incident and conducted the requisite investigations.

Christopher and his family were visited by COP Walwyn, who pledged to do all within the parameters of the law in bringing the perpetrators to justice.

Possible inroads may have already been made as, according to police, a motor vehicle has taken into police custody and assistance with the investigations is being provided by one individual who has also been taken into custody.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
