James Hamm arrested and charged with "rape"

{Basseterre; St. Kitts} It has been brought to the attention of the Police that persons are engaged in the practice of fighting dogs. These fights usually end with the animals being severely injured and sometimes killed in the process. The general public is therefore advised that this practice is not only cruel to the animals but is also illegal. Section 31 (1) © of the Dog (Licensing and Control) Act No. 10 of 2007, prohibits the keeping, using or allowing to be kept for use, any dog for the purpose of fighting. Any person engaged in this activity commits an offence and on summary conviction is be liable for fine of Five Thousand dollars ($5,000.00) or imprisonment for two years or both.
Arrest
Police are investigating an incident which occurred at Bath Village Nevis on 15th January 2008. Investigations reveal that at about 9:35pm, an intruder broke into the home the victim, held her at knife point and sexually assaulted her. On January 18th 2008, James Hamm of Back Way Sandy Point was arrested and charged with rape. He will appear before the court shortly.
