LIME Slashes Landline Calling Costs

Press Release

LIME landline is the least expensive way to connect with friends and family

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts October 1st, 2011 - Telecommunications Company, LIME, has announced a price cut in its landline rates that will result in customers paying one flat per-minute rate for calls to other landlines and local mobile phones, all day, every day.

“From 1 October 2011, calls from a LIME landline to any local mobile phone will cost just $0.40 per minute, at any time of the day or night,” said David Lake, LIME’s General Manager in St. Kitts & Nevis in announcing the latest rate change.

The rate change is in keeping with the Price Cap agreement covering the Eastern Caribbean Telecommunications Authority (ECTEL) countries which include St Kitts & Nevis, Dominica, Grenada, St Lucia and St Vincent & the Grenadines.

“Our customers will benefit from significant savings as LIME is now the least expensive way to make a phone call, whether to another landline or even to a mobile phone. We know our customers will be very excited by this latest development,” he continued.

For some time now LIME has been addressing its landline rates with a view to making them more affordable for its customers to stay in touch. In April 2010, the company reduced the price of landline-mobile calls by more than 40%. Additionally, the company offers CheapChat, an unlimited calling plan to LIME landline customers for only $25 a month.

“This announcement of a rate cut could not have come at a better time given the current economic challenges that are being experienced.” Lake emphasised.

“At a time when the cost of other utilities has increased, our customers are getting more value for their telecoms spend with LIME,” he concluded.
