    Two on marijuana possession charges

    ~~Adz:Left~~ BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – IN their continued effort to rid the streets of illegal guns, ammunition and controlled drugs, police executed a search warrant on the premises of two Bladen Housing Development’s residents and unearthed a quantity of marijuana and cocaine.

    According to a police release, Kwesi Adams and Méchiel Francis of Bladen Housing Development were arrested and charged with “Possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, and Possession of marijuana with intent to supply”.

    The offences were allegedly committed on Friday, February 15.

    The release also informs that on the same day police conducted routine stop and search operations for controlled drug, arms and ammunition in the Mc Knight, Village, Newtown, Soho, Dorset and Buckleys areas. Thirteen persons were stopped and searched but no illegal items were found.

    Meanwhile, Police are investigating an incident that occurred at the Sands Complex on Friday, February 15. Investigations revealed that a young man approached Dr. Wilkinson’s office at the Sands Complex in an angry manner and insisted that he wanted to see Dr. Wilkinson, but the office staff prohibited him from entering. 
     
    Mr. Clyde Thompson, caretaker of the complex, assisted in preventing the young man from entering the office. As a consequence, the young man attacked the caretaker by pushing him to the ground causing injury to the head.
     
    The injured man was taken to the JNF Hospital where he was treated and discharged, but was subsequently taken back to the hospital where he was warded.  A suspect is presently in custody.  Investigations are continuing.
