    Five juveniles convicted

    ~~Adz:Right~~ BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - FIVE juveniles on Monday were convicted of offences brought against them and issued fines in accordance at one of the Federation’s Magistrate’s Courts.
     
    A 14-year-old of Central Street, a 17-year-old of Upper Market Street and a 16-year-old of the Mc Knight area appeared before the court on charges of “Battery” and were ordered to compensate the virtual complainant in the case in the sum of EC$500 each. They have two months in which to pay the sum, and should they fail to do so they will be required to return to the court, at which point a custodial sentence will be imposed.
     
    The offence, according to police, was committed on April 17, 2007.
     
    A Neverson Street West juvenile was convicted for “wounding with intent”; however, sentencing was postponed.  According to a police press release, the 17-year-old committed the offence on September 5, 2006.
     
    “Larceny” was the offence that a John England juvenile was convicted. He would however have to return to court at a later date to know when he would be sentenced.  The offence took place on  June 20,  2007.
